How QuranicPro handles your data
QuranicPro has no sign-up. This page explains what is stored, where, and for how long. Last updated 12 October 2026.
Your guest identity
When you first open the learning app, the server creates a random guest identity and ties it to a secure, HTTP-only session cookie. It contains no name, email address or phone number. Everything below is linked to that identity only.
There is no account recovery and no cross-device sync. If you clear your browser's site data or lose the session, you can lose access to your progress.
What is stored on our server
- Learning progress: the words you have met, your answers, scores and review dates, and your practice days.
- Settings: your daily pace, learning days, difficulty mode, time zone and reminder preferences.
- Reminders, only if you turn them on: a push registration (a Firebase Installation ID) for each device or browser you enable, the time, time zone and days you choose, and the status of the last reminder. Registration identifiers are kept privately on our server and are never shown to you or written to logs.
- Language requests: the language name and optional note you type. We do not ask for contact details. Requests are linked to your guest identity so repeats can be recognised; the totals are a signal of interest, not a count of people.
What is stored on your device
To let you practise offline, your browser keeps a copy of the words you have loaded, your current session and answers that are waiting to be sent. The app's files are cached by a service worker. Clearing site data removes all of this.
Cookies
QuranicPro uses only the cookies it needs to work: the session cookie and a CSRF protection token. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, and fonts are served from QuranicPro itself, not a third party.
Third parties
If you turn on reminders, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers the notification. It receives your device's push registration and the message text, which is generic ("Your Quranic Arabic practice is ready.") and carries no scores or personal details. If you never turn on reminders, nothing is sent to Firebase.

How long guest data is kept
- A guest identity with no activity for 180 days is removed together with its progress, settings and language requests.
- When a guest identity is removed, its reminder registrations are removed with it, so no further notifications are sent.
- Reminders pause for a device if the app has not been opened for 30 days. This also ends reminders to a device whose guest session was lost (for example after clearing site data). Opening QuranicPro on that device resumes them.
- A registration that the push service reports as invalid is removed.
- You can switch reminders off at any time in Settings, which stops them and removes the registration for that device.
Deleting your data
Because there are no accounts, we cannot tell which guest identity is yours on request. You can clear your browser's site data to remove everything stored on your device. Server records for a guest identity that is no longer used are deleted after the retention period above.
